Most packable chimneys are flat sheets curled into tubes: the seam never seals, creosote builds in the overlap, and they warp until they will not assemble. These are true precision-fit cylinders that slide together, sealed and straight, even with thick gloves at 15 below. Every joint uses an oversized thumb screw. No tools, no tiny hardware lost in the snow.
The Rear Chimney Difference
The Whole Stove Top Is a Cooking Surface
Most tent stoves put the chimney in the middle of the top, turning your cook surface into an obstacle course. This chimney exits from the rear center, leaving the entire flat top unobstructed. Boil a kettle on one side, warm a pan on the other, dry wet gloves in the middle, all at once. Before you order: this is a real wood-burning stove. Use it in a hot tent with a proper stove jack, keep safe clearance from canvas and gear, secure the chimney with the arrestor tie-downs in wind, and never leave a burn unattended. Surfaces get extremely hot in use. Glass panels are tough but pack them with care in transit.

Will it actually keep a tent warm all night?
Yes, with vent management. Open vents heat a 4-person hot tent in minutes; cracked vents hold a slow burn for hours. The side vents plus the door intake control burn rate, heat output, and fuel efficiency, which are the three variables that decide whether you sleep warm.
Do I need a special tent?
You need a hot tent with a stove jack: a heat-resistant port that lets the chimney exit safely. Most canvas tipis and hot tents have one. The roughly 6 ft stack with a 2 5/8 in base fits standard jacks.
Why does the nested chimney matter?
