You have seen the cycle: the enamel pot that chipped into the fire, the aluminum perc that made every cup taste like nickels, the plastic knob that melted on the second trip. This pot ends it. Every part that touches your coffee is Grade 1 titanium: the pot, the filter stem and basket, the lid, the handles. The filter basket is CNC machined from solid stock. The Material Argument
Coffee Is Acid. Titanium Does Not Care.
Coffee acids react with aluminum, corrode enamel coatings, and interact with stainless alloys. That is where the classic metallic camp-coffee taste comes from. Grade 1 titanium is biologically inert: it does not react with coffee acids, oils, or heat, so your beans taste exactly as the roaster intended, brew after brew, year after year. The only non-titanium part on the whole pot is the glass brew-viewer knob on top.

How It Works
Six Cups in Three Steps

Fill
Water to the etched mark: one cup of water per cup of coffee, from 2 cups up to the full 1.5 L.

Load
Stem in, basket on, one rounded scoop of coarse grounds per cup, then cap the basket with its perforated lid.
3
Perc and Pour
Rolling boil, then back off to a gentle perc for 4 to 5 minutes. Watch the color build in the glass knob, lift the stack out, and pour.
Before you order: this percolator does not work on induction cooktops, because titanium is not ferromagnetic. Grind coarse: the titanium basket filters without paper, so coarse grounds stay put and espresso-fine grounds fall through. The glass brew-viewer knob is the one fragile part, so pack it in the included case. Everything on the pot gets hot in use: pour by the handle, with a glove or towel at camp.

Questions, Answered Straight
Does titanium really fix the metallic taste?
Yes, and it is chemistry, not marketing. Coffee is acidic, and those acids react with aluminum, corrode enamel, and interact with stainless alloys. Grade 1 titanium is completely inert, so nothing leaches into the cup no matter how long you brew or how long coffee sits in the pot.
How many cups does it make?
Up to 6 cups from the 1.5 L pot. Etched fill marks let you scale down to 2 cups: one cup of water per cup of coffee, one rounded scoop of grounds per cup.
What heat sources can I use?
Gas stoves, electric cooktops, camp stoves, campfires, and open flame. It can hang over a fire by the bail handle. It does not work on induction cooktops, because titanium is not ferromagnetic.
What grind should I use?
Coarse and even, like coarse sea salt. The machined basket filters without paper, so fine grounds fall through and muddy the cup. Store-bought drip grind works acceptably. Espresso grind never does.
Do I need paper filters?
No. The CNC-machined titanium filter basket is the filter. There is no paper to buy and no plastic anywhere in the brew path.
Is it really all titanium?
Every component that touches your coffee is Grade 1 titanium: pot, filter stem, basket, basket lid, main lid, and both handles. The only non-titanium part is the glass brew-viewer knob on top. It is the world's first full-titanium coffee percolator.
How tough is the glass knob?
It shrugs off normal brewing, boiling, and campfire heat. What it will not survive is a hard drop or a cold-water shock while hot. Keep it finger-tight, pack the pot in its case, and it will outlast the rest of your kit. They are replacable if they do break.
Can I use it as a plain kettle?
Yes. Lift the filter stack out and you have a 2.0 L titanium kettle for tea, cocoa, or boiling camp water. The stack nests back inside the pot for packing.

I have used this Percolator at home and in the field. My favorite coffee is Percolated, reminds me of my youth. This Titanium is strong and cleans up very well after over the fire use. I have used it on a hot tent stove and it is a fine coffee pot. Like all percolated coffee, just drop a daub of cold water into the cup for two reasons. Cools the coffee down a tad and sends any particles to the bottom of the cup. I have been able to just grab the wing handles on the side when over a stove at home or in the tent. The Bulb is real had glass. This Percolator is highly recommended.
Valtcan makes the BEST quality titanium cookware and gear PERIOD!!! The percolator is going to be my go-to pot and coffee maker for my backpack hot tenting adventures!! Awesome ingenuity guys!!
Really happy with this percolator!! It's true that it's pricey but it's the type of thing you keep for life, and there's really nothing else like it in terms of size, material, or craftsmanship - also shipped super quick :) Haven't had a chance to go camping but made some coffee on the stove and it makes a lovely cup

I purchased this percolator primarily for the kettle to use on our annual Appalachian Trail hike, and we used it for the first time over the weekend. Followed the instructions then made the first pot. It was just OK. Ive got to practice on the right grind and amount. Love the pot, perfect. This pot does not use a paper filter. Doesn’t the filter clean out some of the bitterness?

I think it’s a great coffee pot. The only issue with it is the lid wanted to pop off while pouring coffee. So I modified it by slightly bending the lip on the lid out a few thousands of an inch where the small dimples that are supposed to hold it are.

Great seller communicative, the item is perfect, made my first batch turned out perfectly. Used 7 tablespoons of coffee, added boiling water, percolated for exactly 4 minutes perfect cup of coffee.
Well, this coffee pot is made very good. But it doesn't perform very well. When the water starts to boil the water should start to perculate up to the top. This pot just boils and will not perculate very much. I believe that the bottom of the percolator should be a little bit larger diameter to push the water up the tube. This one basically just boils the water. Not happy with the pot for the money.
Smaller one would be nice, like four cups!

To be honest it is not a review. Most lickely it works fine. But i desperatly am in need for a smaller Perculator. 90 percent of people hike alone. In my case i ride a motorcycle alone. So a maximum of 700 ml is more then enough for one person and ocassionally two persons. On a bike also space counts. And i have to admit that i beleive in the quality of Valtcan. As a homesteader I've been trying to find a stovetop coffee pot that will actually hold up to the test of time for a few years now. None that I've found seemed to fit the bill. This percolator seems to be exactly what I�ve been looking for. This was not my first purchase. Nor will it be my last.
This is extremely high quality. You hit the ball out of the park with this titanium percolator. Pour overs don't work so great outdoors in cold weather. This coffee maker gets real hot every time automatically. It's a must have for any outdoor enthusiast. Heavy duty and expertly crafted. I only had to percolate for about a minute to get strong robust hot coffee. You can sample as it percolates to get it to your liking.
